Afformations – A New Approach to Positive Thinking

If you’ve ever read a self-help book, you know that traditional success teachers have told you to say “affirmations” – positive statements that you’d like to be true. For example, a classic “affirmation” is: “I am rich.”
Try it. Say “I am rich.”
What just happened? Did you hear a voice in your head that said: “Yeah, right!”?
There’s only one problem with “affirmations”: they really don’t work for most people. Why? Because you’re trying to convince yourself of something you don’t really believe.
Have you ever been persuaded to try “affirmations”… and then had absolutely nothing happen?
Me too. And about a gazillion other people.

One morning in April 1997, I was in the shower, thinking about how the human mind works. I realized that human thought IS the process of asking and searching for the answer to QUESTIONS. For example, if I asked you, “Why is the sky blue?”, your mind would start searching for the answer.
So I asked myself a logical question: “If the human mind is always asking and searching for answers to QUESTIONS, why are we going around saying statements we don’t even believe? Why don’t we cut out the middleman?
Take the “affirmation” “I am rich” – to which the brain replies “Yeah, right!” What would the QUESTION be?
“Why am I so rich?”
Try it. Ask yourself: “Why am I so rich?”
What’s your brain doing right now? Searching for an answer to the QUESTION!
The staggering realization I made that morning in April 1997 was that you create your reality in two ways: by the statements you say to yourself and others, and by the questions you ask yourself and others. Until then, no one had fully realized, or shown how to harness, the awesome power of what happens when you ASK EMPOWERING QUESTIONS.
And that’s why I named my discovery The Afformations Method.
The 4 Steps to Creating Afformations That Change Your Life
Step 1: Ask yourself what you want.
You can use a goal you’ve previously written down, or start from scratch. You decide.
Please note that traditional success teachers stop right here. They tell you to “set your goals” and then say “affirmations” trying to convince your brain that you have what you want. How’s that working for you?
So, let’s try something different. For example, in Step 1, you might decide that your goal is to be happy, healthy and wealthy (hard to imagine anyone NOT wanting those things!). So, you would write: “I want to be happy, healthy and wealthy.”
Now let’s go to the breakthrough step…
Step 2: Form a QUESTION that assumes that what you want is already true.
In Step 2, you ask a question that assumes that what you want is already so, has already happened, or is already true!
This is the key step to creating Afformations that change your life.
In the example above, you want to be happy, healthy and wealthy, right? Well, in this step you ask yourself WHY this is already so!
The quality of your life depends on just two things: the quality of your communication with the world inside yourself, and the quality of your communication with the world outside yourself.
Step 2 of The Afformations Method is to begin to change the quality of communication with both of the worlds you live in. You will begin to ask yourself new, better, empowering questions, and stop asking yourself negative, disempowering questions.
This is the fastest, most effective way I’ve ever seen to immediately change the quality of your communication with both your inside and outside worlds.
So Step 2 in The Afformation Method is to ask yourself, “Why is [what I want] true in my life now?”
Using our example above, you would ask yourself, “Why am I so happy, healthy and wealthy?”
Step 3: Give yourself to the question.
The point of Afformations does not lie in finding “the answer”, but in asking better questions. When you ask better questions, your mind will automatically focus on things you’ve probably never focused on before. When you do this, the results will amaze you.
For example, Sheila, a working mom and network marketer from California, used Afformations and went from $5,000 a month in sales to over $75,000 a month in less than six months.

You can give yourself to the question by doing things like:
■Prayer
■Meditation
■Reading your Afformations
■Writing them
■Saying them out loud

Don’t worry about finding “the answer”. Just give yourself to your new questions.
Which brings us to Step 4 of The Afformations Method – the one you MUST do to get the results you want…
Step 4: Take new ACTIONS based on your new assumptions about life.
Even though you may have spent thousands of dollars on “how to succeed” programs, you may subconsciously assume they won’t work for you. That’s precisely why they haven’t.
But after using Afformations, you may realize you’ve been unconsciously asking lousy questions, and that’s led directly to lousy results. That’s why The Afformation Method makes conscious and clear that which has, until now, been subconscious and hidden.
No matter what you ASK, nothing will change in your life unless you ACT. Afformations are not magic, they’re science. The people who’ve experienced incredible breakthroughs with Afformations have also changed their Actions to reflect their new assumptions. That’s how you’ll get better results.
In Summary
They told us to use “affirmations” like, “I am rich” that you not only don’t believe, but actually leave you more frustrated than before.
The new way is to use Afformations, which are empowering questions like, “Why am I so rich?” that immediately change what your brain focuses on – which automatically changes your perspective, which can change your actions, which will change your life.
Can you see how Afformations must, by definition, change your life? Using Afformations, you can take conscious control of your subconscious thoughts – change your questions, change your results, and CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
